STRIVE in North Ayrshire

undefined undefined

The Lennox Partnership have delivered STRIVE in North Ayrshire over the last seven years and have achieved considerable success for the people involved. Using a simulated work environment, the workshops focus on:

  • Developing soft skills and  appropriate workplace behaviours and attitudes
  • Providing core employability skills and tools to be able to compete favourable in the current labour market
  • Activities are conducted through individual and team-based assignments, in-class exercises and group work. Participants on the workshops will increase their confidence and self-esteem as well as their motivation. No other service delivered in Scotland tackles these areas in the direct manner of STRIVE.

The Council in North Ayrshire have used STRIVE as the “front end” of their Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) in an attempt to improve the sustainment rates of their young people moving into work.

Read some case studies here... http://www.thelennoxpartnership.org/case-studies/strive-nac/

In terms of sustainment, post financial ERI support at 26 weeks,   84 %  of young people are still in employment which is unique and demonstrates the impact that the STRIVE workshop has even when the financial support is no longer available for employers.

The Lennox Partnership were also  commissioned by North Ayrshire Council, in conjunction with JobcentrePlus in the area to deliver a pre- STRIVE workshop for youngsters aged 18-24 years who had been through the Work Programme and had still not secured employment . By adopting the same ethos as STRIVE and focussing on the soft skills and behaviours and attitudes expected in the workplace we were able to provide a very positive experience for the young people.

The workshop was delivered over 4 weeks (15 hours each week) . To date over 50 % of youngsters have moved into work .
